Children and Youth

Our Children and Youth Ministry is about the children and youth ministries that have been established to help our children and youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus, and with others.

Children and Youth Ministry Team is comprised of 9 dedicated members led by Kathy Hughes. During the summer we initiated a cross-generational program that involved the entire family unit.  VBS enrollment increased to 67 children with over 40 adults, who taught, sang, crafted, played and in a most observable manner demonstrated God’s love to all. Parents Nite Out (PNO) continued on a monthly basis with the average attendance of 35 kids.  In addition, the Team participated in several outreach events at both Cooper Elementary and the Boys & Girls Club and the Gingerbread house make and take.

Our two major events, Trunk & Treat and Easter Egg Hunt, were expanded in both quality and quantity of participants.  We were especially pleased at the Egg Hunt where 145 parents and children were exposed to the true meaning of Easter via the Stations of the Cross and the Resurrection Egg Story.

The Teams goal in 2012 is to continue to expand upon our existing programs and to improve in quality.  We anticipate the initiation of our first confirmation class in several years and the beginning of a youth group.  We hope to reach out and touch the hearts of 200 children and their parents and we pray that we as people of Bella Vista Lutheran show these young ones God’s love and that they become a part of his family.
