Bella Vista Lutheran church offers many opportunities for adult Bible study. Bible study groups meet almost daily; morning, afternoon, and evening. Every Sunday morning an adult education hour is held between services. You are welcome to join a course at any time. Call the church office for times and places of mid-week Bible studies.
SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY - Beginning September 4 through October 5
“Thinking Like a Missionary” taught by Pastor Paul Hass (For these 5 weeks, this will be the only adult Bible study offered.)
If you were in a foreign mission field, how would you live? What would be your priorities? What would be your mindset every time you left your home? What would you be praying about, watching for, and eager to be a part of? If you had a job there, how would that be effected? If your family were with you, what would that mean for how you went about your days? What might you be more intentional about? If you knew you only had a short time in that mission field, what priority would leadership identification and development take? The fact is, we all are living in a mission field. It is the mission field of Bella Vista. What if we re-framed our lives as a mission trip? This class will help us define, explain and lay out a simple but effective action plan for making disciples of Jesus in Bella Vista through the people of Bella Vista Lutheran Church. Please join us!
PREVIEWS OF SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASSES – Beginning October 12
Discussion Class – Meets in Pastor’s Office – Gerry Rath, Leader
This class is popular with individuals who enjoy ample opportunity for interactive discussion of the topic being studied. Currently the group is studying Luther’s Catechisms. The material is from the Concordia Series on Lutheran Confessions. The participants in the class determine topics studied. Coffee and rolls are provided.
Overview of the Old Testament - Meets in Classroom B – Rev. Bob Miskimen, Teacher
"Overview of the Old Testament" continues with the books of Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy. You may join this study at any time, even though you've missed the first part. The purpose of this course is to give the participant an holistic view of the OT, many of whose prophecies are fulfilled in the NT. An overview of the New Testament will follow the conclusion of this course.
Information Class for New Members – Meets in the Choir Room, Pastor Hass, Teacher
This class is for all potential new members and will also act as a “refresher” for all our present members. You will learn anew or be reminded of what our church believes, teaches and confesses. This is an opportunity to connect with new members, to get to know the “old” ones, to grow in your spiritual life and to serve one another by your encouraging presence with others who share our faith.
History of Christianity – Meets in the Fellowship Hall, Rev. Ron Pfluger, Teacher
